This project was done for “Creamii Candy”, an online shop that sells cute gift and novelty items as well as stationery.The client had an existing idea for a mascot to use on their website and I was commissioned to re-create the character in my own style. I also designed a logo to match their new mascot. The overall concept was to use a color palette and style that reflected an “ice cream” theme.
I’ve noticed an increase in inquiries regarding food-related logo and character design. It might be because my portfolio is filled with it. It’s not that I don’t love doing those type of designs but I want to try something new. I’m thinking about experimenting with more whimsical and dainty designs. I’ve taken a liking to calligraphy-type logos and fonts and the use of watercolor so I might play around with that. We’ll see how it will turn out. Currently I’m studying real-life drawing to prepare for my art classes next year. Will talk more about it in another post!
